Paul Newman

Much has been written today about the loss of actor Paul Newman. I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Newman and his “Hole in the Wall Gang.
The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, in collaboration with its associated camps in the United States and abroad, provides children with cancer and other serious illnesses and conditions a camping experience of the highest quality, while extending year-round support to their families and health care providers.
Below is some information about the program as well as a place to make a donation to this incredible program in memory of its founder, Paul Newman.
Welcome!

We’re still in “beta” so let us know right away if something — besides a few images we haven’t replaced yet — doesn’t work. Meanwhile enjoy your visit. I look forward to seeing you at our next NY:MIEG event, Comedy and the Media, on October 23rd.

Ben Silverman and NBC: Could Knight Rider be the next Supertrain?
September 26, 2008 by Bill Sobel · Leave a Comment
Am I the only one who remembers the show Supertrain from February 1979?
Enjoying a brief six month run on NBC-TV, “Supertrain” has been noted as one of television’s biggest disasters of all-time. “Supertrain” was reportedly rushed into production, cost the network a fortune, and failed miserably in the ratings…and if memory serves, cost quite a few people in both Burbank and at 30Rock their jobs.
Not sure if the new “Knight Rider” will become the next “Supertrain” however I found the following blurb on FishBowlNY of interest.

Ben Silverman Riding Towards the End?
Could last night have been the middle of the end for Ben Silverman, the embattled co-chairman of NBC Entertainment?
According to TV By The Numbers (via Vulture), only 7.3 million people tuned in last night for the premiere of Knight Rider, a show Silverman championed.
Just last week he got a vote of confidence from his boss Jeff Zucker, but if the Peacock continues to struggle, it could give the company’s brass the excuse it needs to get rid of Silverman.

September 21, 2008 by Bill Sobel · Leave a Comment
A fantastic article from my colleague Marion Freijsen, Co-Founder of The E.Factor, the online community and virtual marketplace designed for entrepreneurs, by entrepreneurs.
Sales people ought to know that preparation is key. It is one of the three p’s that I always used to repeat to my team: Prepare, Plan and Prosper. But it isn’t simply something that aids the success of salespeople alone - preparation in many ways should be the automatic first step in any process an entrepreneur chooses. Read more

“We always try to look for bargains for our customers,” said Walmart, “and this time we found three great ones.” Scott was referring to Read more
