Bill & Jerry Buy Shoes?

OK…full disclosure here…my first computer was an Apple SE back in the 80’s. I was then forced to switch to Windows for the typical reasons (my job) and then last year switched back to the MacOS thanks in part to my buddy Eric Dawson at Apple. That said, I really like the Mac guy poking fun at the Windows guy and have been waiting for Microsoft to come up with something to get back.

So last night was the night…the debut of “Shoe Circus” featuring Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld. I posted the following comment on the Adweek website “I’m a Seinfeld fan and a MacBook user. It was funny in a Seinfeld sort of way…and I admire Gates for being able to poke fun at himself. Will I switch to Vista? Nope.” Read more

“Forget the Palin’s…Levi’s Comin’!”

One of the newest members of the FOBS family (or as he calls it “SobelWorld”) is Ellis Henican.

Henican, a staff columnist for Newsday, joined FOX News Channel (FNC) as a political contributor in July of 1999. His opinion column appears in Newsday’s front section every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. In addition, Ellis can be heard frequently on WOR Radio (710am) here in New York City.

As a Long Islander and a frequent fan and reader of Mr. Henican’s column, I have asked and Ellis has agreed to allow us to occasionally link his stories here…however, I need to say something here.

I have been critized in the past (especially the past few days) for my distribution of stuff that is not only political in nature, but off the track from the what NY:MIEG is all about (Media Information). So as to keep this column as Kosher as possible, Ellis is a journalist who covers a wide range of things for Fox, Newsday and WOR and sometimes has some interesting things to say…whether you agree with him or not. He is also a journalist who is beginning to look beyond traditional media (print and broadcast) which is one of the reasons he has connected with me and a number of our members. If you would like to post your thoughts (good, bad or indifferent) this is, in my opinion, what blogging is all about.

Finally…Ellis plans to join us at the E.Factor event on September 10th and I’m sure he would be happy to meet you and hear your thoughts as well.

Levi for first vice son-in-law!

Would that be effin awesome — or what?

Way cooler than David Eisenhower. Ten times hunkier than that doofus who married the Bush twin. Ask yourself: Who’d you rather have with you in a broken-bottle bar fight on Capitol Hill? Bristol Palin’s bruiser of a baby-daddy or Karenna Gore¹s limp-wristed Doctor Schiff?

Finally, a proud-as-chrome ‘redneck’ in the executive branch. Billy Carter must be smiling somewhere. Read more
