Floating Brothel: November 16th In DUMBO

floatIn the world of Bill Sobel it’s all about friends and helping each other. My friend, Melinda Lee, co-founder of Uncensored Interview emailed me recently about an exciting new performance she is supporting called Floating Brothel and asked if I’d help support it…

In a few short weeks, the cast and crew of Floating Brothel will be heading to Shanghai to perform at the Asia Contemporary Theatre Festival. Based on historical accounts and performed entirely on a 3′x6′ platform, Floating Brothel tells the story of the first shipload of women convicts sent by the British crown to the penal colony in New South Wales (aka Australia). To help raise funds for the trip to Shanghai, the company is hosting a special benefit performance on Monday, November 16th at Galapagos Art Space in DUMBO (16 Main Street, F to York St., A to High St., 2/3 to Clark St). The event will feature complimentary pre-show cocktails provided by Prohibition Distillery and food provided by Dumbo General Store. Doors open at 7pm, show starts at 8pm. Tickets are $25 ($15 for starving artists) and are available at Smarttix. For more information, please visit http://www.floatingbrothel.com
