Apple CEO Steve Jobs appears to have sent a new email to a fan, which we’ve obtained.

The email provides some insight into why the typically apolitical CEO has publicly thrown his support behind a pro-organ donation bill making its way through California’s state senate.

Jobs has recently responded to a bunch of customers’ and fans’ emails, a practice that has further endeared him to millions of people. Many of these emails have become public, via excited recipients who sent them to news outlets.

iPad Can Run Norway, But Still Can’t Multitask

Will it Blend: The iPad

it was just a matter of time that Tom Dickson, the founder of BlendTec and the host of “Will it Blend?” got his hands on an iPad. For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about, Will It Blend? is a viral marketing campaign consisting of a series of infomercials demonstrating the Blendtec line of blenders, especially the Total Blender. In the show, Tom Dickson, the Blendtec founder, attempts to blend various items in order to show off the power of his blender. Dickson started this marketing campaign after doing a blending attempt with a box of matches.

It is a gorgeous spring day when I arrive at the coolest address in the universe: 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, Calif., where Apple has been headquartered since 1993. The campus, for such they call it, is enormous yet not big enough to contain Apple’s current rate of expansion. An additional site is being designed and built. After stocking up on “I visited the mothership” T-shirts at the company store (we fanboys are pathetic, I readily confess), I am shown around the canteen, lawns and public spaces. It is right to call this a campus, for everyone looks and dresses like a student. I should imagine the only people ever caught wearing suits here have been visiting politicians.

Phil Schiller and Eddy Cue are suitably bejeaned and relaxed as they welcome me for a talk about the iPad, Apple’s new product, which will be launched in a week and a half. Schiller is senior VP of worldwide product marketing, responsible for delivering Apple’s latest baby. Cue is VP of Internet services, overseeing the iTunes, App and iBook online stores.

Apple Seeks to Avoid Past Tablet Flops

A keyboardless computer that is too big to fit in your pocket? Silicon Valley has seen that movie before, and it flopped each time.

As Apple Inc. prepares to unveil its own sequel Wednesday, the biggest question is whether changes since the early 1990s in the technology landscape—and consumer habits—could give this tablet story a happier ending. Early tablet forays lacked high-speed wireless networking and Internet-based content, which Apple can tap for its device.

There are still plenty of obstacles, veteran tech watchers say, including questions about cost and battery life as well as competition from laptops and smaller devices …
