Congratulations to Barack Obama…a man I was proud to have supported. At the same time, I was blown away by the tone and content of John McCain’s concession speech last night. A portion of it I have included below.
A little while ago, I had the honor of calling Sen. Barack Obama to congratulate him.
To congratulate him on being elected the next president of the country that we both love. Read more
President Obama!

Sen. Barack Obama completed his historic journey to the presidency Tuesday when the state of California gave him enough electoral votes to put him over the 270 needed to win the 2008 election over Sen. John McCain, making him the first person of African-American descent to become the nation’s chief executive. The Democratic senator from Illinois completed his remarkable 21-month journey to win the election with a well-financed campaign that relied largely on small donations gathered via the Internet. Along the way, and he captured a number of states that usually vote Republican.
Toto…I have a feeling we’re not in Alaska anymore.

The son of William F. Buckley has decided to vote for a Democrat?
October 25, 2008 by Bill Sobel · Leave a Comment

This came to an end after Buckley endorsed the 2008 Democratic Presidential Nominee Barack Obama in October 2008. After many readers & contributors expressed their displeasure, Buckley offered his resignation from the column, which was accepted. Read more
The Long Island Debate

I just think it so cool that the debate took here on Long Island. I reminds me of the day back in 1987 when former CIA Director William Casey passed away. He had lived for many years down the street from my parents and the funeral took place at nearby St. Marys Church.
Not only were there police cars and secret service all over the place…but President Reagan arrived by presidential helicopter at our local town beach…how cool was that. Now here we are…21 years later…and Hofstra University was the host to what might turn out to be one of the most important and interesting debates in history…how cool is that.
