According to the New York Times, H.P. is working on an array of tablets, including one that will run Google’s Android operating system. Other tablet showings at CES (some of which were prototypes) included products from Dell, Lenovo and Motorola.

Plastic Logic announced a new e-reader, and both EnTourage Systems and Spring Design showed dual e-readers and netbooks.

Everyone was trying to pre-empt some of the buzz from Apple’s expected tablet announcement on January 27th.
