If it was anyone but Google, the announcement that a new Linux-based operating system was being developed for PCs would have been greeted with a collective online yawn yesterday.

Alas, poor Microsoft. First Google dominates the search engine market. Then Google enters the Web-based e-mail market. Android invades Windows Mobile’s turf.
