I thought you might be interested in this recent article from NYTimes.com about how people around the world this New Year’s Eve will be able watch a live, 6 ½ hour Webcast of the ball drop from New York’s Times Square. The article also mentions how the Times Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment, which co-organizes the event, will be running this Webcast on www.TimesSquareNYC.org , www.Livestream.com/2010 and on Facebook – Facebook.com/TimesSquareNYC.  They are also offering a free widget for embedding on a website, which allows users to stream the video, and include all of the related social media tools.  Additional information on the widget is available here:  http://www.timessquarenyc.org/nye/2010widgets.html.
